Top 5 Places to Buy Custom Suits Online
Posted on 16 June 2018
The beauty of shopping for a suit online is the large selection of fabrics, colors, and patterns that is offered.
How many times have you seen someone wearing a suit that you absolutely love, so you research the web like a mad man telling yourself:
"I will find you, and I will wear you".
Except, unlike Liam Neeson, you don't find it.
I know. The struggle is real.
The good news is that I've had some success replicating suits using the custom suit websites I will mention a little later.
If you've never ordered a custom aka made-to-measure (MTM) suit online before, the process goes a little something like this:
First, you select the fabric.
This is probably my favorite part of the process. There is just something about fabrics that turns me on. Wool, linen, seersucker, cotton, tweed, velvet, corduroy, make your pick!
The second part of the process is customizing the jacket.
Here you can choose single-breasted or double breasted. There is also mandarin, if you're into that.
The fit can be slim or regular.
You like peak lapels? You can go ahead and add those. If not, you can choose the popular notch lapel or formal shawl lapel.
Choose between a single-vent or double-vent and customize the pockets and sleeve buttons.
Boom! Jacket done.
Now on to the trousers.
You can customize the fit: regular or slim.
Would you like pleats? Sure!
Select your preferred fastening: Button or no-button. Centered or not.
And customize the side and back pockets and add cuffs if you like.
Then you add the final touches.
Now you're probably asking yourself, how do they know my size?
Well, with most custom suit shops, you need to make a profile on their website where you enter your measurements. So get your lovely wife, mom, sister, or extremely nice brother or friend to take your measurements and fill out your profile.
You can also get fitted in store if you have a custom suit shop in your area.
Excited to create your own suit?
